Carrog and the nearby historical town of Corwen stand at the gateway to the Berwyn Mountains, the perfect place from which to explore North Wales and the borders with many outstanding routes making the location a favourite for walkers. There is no better way to view this picturesque valley than by taking the steam train which runs from Carrog to Llangollen and for outstanding natural beauty visitors need look no further than the Horseshoe Pass. The historic town of Shrewsbury is nearby, as is the ancient walled city of Chester – which is also perfect for those in need of retail therapy - and Snowdonia National Park is just along the A5.
